Football

Football is a team sport played predominantly with a spherical ball between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using any part of the body except the hands and arms, unless for goalkeepers who are allowed to use their hands within a specified area. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of fans and players, professional leagues, and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, which showcases the best national teams worldwide.

The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, with players often specializing in various positions such as forwards, midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers. Football has evolved significantly over the years, influencing culture, society, and economics in many regions.
